A flash flood warning was released this morning, May 21, to all of those in the Kansas City area. The warning lasts until 12 p.m. tonight. Due to the heavy rain the last few days, water has accumulated all over the city. In the case of a flash flood, to stay safe, review the following suggestions:
Stay out of areas subject to flooding. Dips, low spots, canyons, washes, etc., can become filled with water.
If outdoors, climb to high ground and stay there. Move away from dangerous flood waters.
If you come upon a flowing stream where water is above your ankles, stop, turn around, and go another way.
