How to: Live it up in Quarantine

Olivia Rezen, Reporter

I’ve found myself to be cooking/baking a lot in quarantine. Personally, I feel a sense of accomplishment when I present my family members with a plate of warm cookies or muffins and get to see their delighted reactions.  It’s a very rewarding process. You make the food, you eat the food. That’s it! Check out the Tasty story that’s right next to this to see how the baking is going for me.

Watch good movies:

This, I’m sure, is not a new idea for your quarantine. But, if you want to expand your movie knowledge, consider watching only movies that have been oscar nominated. This way, you have a better chance of watching a good movie rather than some netflix rom com (sorry netflix). My favorite movies were oscar nominated! I recommend Little Women, La La Land, Parasite, Jojo Rabbit, Marriage Story, Lady Bird, and the list could go on forever. Or you could go the route of watching all the movies of a series in order. Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Divergent.

Build the perfect playlist:

This will take up some time (not like we don’t have enough of it) But it’ll be worth it to have all your favorite songs in one place! If you already have your “perfect playlist” then create new playlists for different situations like a sad and sappy playlist. A pump up playlist. A playlist for when you’re driving. As many playlists as your heart desires. Bonus activity: count how many times I just used the word playlist.

Here are some of my suggestions to start you off:

Throwback Playlist: Natasha Bedingfield – “Unwritten”

Car rides: Looking Glass – “Brandy (You’re a Fine Girl)”

Sad boy hours: Billie Eilish – “listen before i go”
